Markstos was born among the common folk, with no house or name in the chronicles, and entered House Tolchaus by marrying Skuethska. She was humble, patient and pious, with a gift for keeping the accounts. In the winter of year 38 she married Zanchaslos. She gave House Tolchaus its name, and its motto: “What endures, remains”. She lived under the rule of Thegueth. She saw Stianess founded. She knew hunger in Llaness. When she died, House Tolchaus counted one other member. She died of hunger in the spring of year 39, at the age of 22. The house she founded would go out in the spring of year 41.
